From my friend Max. He said he saw this painting and thought of me. (WTF?)
I can’t find the artist, but I’d put money down on William Blake. Anyone know?
Just did a bit more research, and the artist is Sir Charles Bell, 1809. Painting represents “muscle spasms in a patient suffering from tetanus.” Ouch. Both Blake and Bell lived around the same time, I wonder if they knew each other. I think Bell was more of a medical scientist, studying the human nervous system, and Blake was crazy poet.
